I've been using Pingdom as my server monitoring tool for a while now - I think it's really important that I know ASAP when one of your sites go down. I really like Pingdom - it's a really slick service.
Today I see that Pingdom are now offering a free solution, called Pingdom Free. Pingdom Free has all the features of their paid account versions but you can only monitor one website or server. For more information and to sign up for a free account, go to http://www.pingdom.com/ |

There's not much to it - it pings your server from several different places around the world and makes sure it responds. If it finds it doesn't respond from a couple different locations, it will let you know. Their tour runs you through it - I think the simplicity of it all is what I like.

Pingdom is a pretty sick service. I've worked with other people before who have used it and they loved it. Now that it is free, I'll probably give it a shot. If it works out, I've got 30+ sites that could use this.
