Does forum works in link building?

I wonder how forums works in link building, I see guys going after forums to build links by including signatures and day and nite looking for some new dofollow links, okay so when we pass comments or post threads it creates a unique page that page doesn’t has any Pagerank values, so how its counted in link building? it just create a healthy backlinks, yes we can say it also helps in keywords in the SERPS, so mine question is does it works in link building to get some PR reputation? Well I am new and still learning, so I am eager to know much in details about how it works in forums.

It seems a lot of people do it for that reason. I'd love to know if it works too, and if anyone has done a test to show if it works. I just assume it has very, very, very little value, and is just a side benefit from the LEARNING you can do at forums. If all you are doing at a forum is trying to get a "link" I can't believe it's worth it. But I guess my point is, has anyone done a REAL WORLD test of this???

It is not the best way to get backlinks but it can help, especially if the forum topics are related to the site being linked to. An added benefit is that the poster controls the anchor text.

It depends on the forum if is being indexed by search engines and Its a great way to promote and help incoming traffic in your website.

Hi,

According to me forums posting with your site link in signature is very effective for traffics and you can get additional backlinks also for your site.

If forum is do follow then you can get PR juice due to your signature links.

Imagine if you have reached 2000 forum posts at a certain forum, it means that your link (signature) is shown 2000 times, sounds nice right?
