Default Quality of Incoming Links

I read all the time about spamming forums, posting on craig's list, spamming blogs, posting the same article on 300 sites, etc.

Do you think having tons of low quality links is going to hurt a site in the long run?

Ya.. It is true. Site will get affected due to low quality, So always get quality backlinks only, the content you are posting should be the unique one.

I don't think low quality links is going to hurt a site.
It’s always good to have a quality backlinks.

It wont hurt but it can help a bit. Traffic and positioning specifically.
