This document is the privacy policy for Australian Webmaster (www.australianwebmaster.com).
Australian Webmaster respects your privacy and has therefore prepared the following information on how we gather your details, how it is used, and how you can "opt-out" (where possible).

VISITOR TRACKING
Like most sites, Australian Webmaster tracks visitor usage. For every page viewed through your browser a variety of information is collected, including:
* your IP address,
* browser and version,
* operating system,
* date and time and
* the site from which you came
This information is stored in a log file and/or database.
Any search terms that you enter is also logged. This information cannot be used to identify specific individuals, and is only used for:
* Website and system administration,
* research and development,
* anonymous user analysis, and
* to provide accurate statistics to advertisers in the form of aggregated data.
This information is kept on a our (VPS) server as well as servers operated by technology partners, such as Google (eg. Google Analytics).
USER REGISTRATION DETAILS
The information collected during the registration process is used to:
* contact members, and
* customize content based upon user preferences
Information collected in this process can also be used to prevent banned users from re-registering under a different username.
EMAILS
Your email address collected as part of the user registration process will not be sold, or disclosed to any third parties. The email address will only be seen by moderators and administrators if the "Keep your email address viewable to other users when you post notes?" option is set to no.
Your address will only be used by us to send out communications such as newsletters. Your email address is stored on our (VPS) server. To remove yourself from these types of e-mails, disable the "Receive e-mail from administrators" option from your User Control Panel.
The email address is also used for any thread subscriptions that you requested, and you can remove yourself at any time, via your User Control Panel or from the individual threads.
COOKIES
Cookies may be sent to your browser to enable automatic log-ins upon further visits, as well as for content customization.
Cookies are also used by ourselves, our ad management system, and occasionally by advertisers (eg. Google Adsense) who use 3rd party ad serving solutions. Cookies are used for:
* ad tracking,
* customization of content (i.e. not repeating pop-up windows),
* storing login information, and
* statistical site-traffic analysis.
In the case of Google Adsense, you may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google ad and content network privacy policy (http://www.google.com/privacy_ads.html).
FORUM POSTINGS
Any postings you make on the site should be considered public knowledge and assume will be accessible by search engine spiders. This includes any information you provide within your "profile".
We hereby reserve the right to transfer any data collected in the event of an acquisition, full or partial, of the site.
